Nicky Carr
|
Nicky Carr is our full time optometrist and practice owner. Nicky completed her optometry degree in December 2002. Straight out of uni she was very lucky to get a job with an independent small group practice on the Gold Coast, who had optometrists that were well known for their clinical knowledge. She moved to Tamborine Mountain in 2006 and started working with her Aunty and Uncle at Tamborine Mountain Optometrists. She purchased the practice in January 2008. She completed the qualification to write a prescription for eye drops in 2007 and also her certificate to do eye tests for pilots through CASA in 2011.

Cassie Baan
|
Cassie Baan joined the practice in February 2022. She was raised on Tamborine Mountain – and even born here on Esme St! Cassie completed her Bachelor of Vision Science (Distinction) and Masters of Optometry (Distinction) at QUT in Brisbane with a semester abroad in Waterloo, Canada. She has the qualification to write prescriptions for eye drops.
Aside from optometry, she puts her Bachelor of Theatre Arts (Acting) to good use by performing in community theatre. Cassie has also completed a Diploma of Auslan (Australian Sign Language). |
Sarah Crouther
We are thrilled to introduce you to Sarah, who graduated in 2019 with her Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Optometry. She worked in Tasmania for her first 2 years out of uni and then worked on the Gold Coast for 4 years. Sarah is an incredibly knowledgeable optometrist and is also kind, friendly and so easy to talk to.
Outside of work Sarah enjoys dancing - both ballet and line dancing and is smitten with her 2 gorgeous cats.

Louise

Louise has worked in optometry for many years. Before moving to the mountain, Louise was living in Warwick and she regularly goes back to visit. Away from work Louise enjoys going for walks around the mountain and spending time with her husband, kids and nine grandkids. |
Nicole
|
Nicole is originally from the Gold Coast but has been living on the mountain for the last seven years with her husband and two kids. She has worked in a variety of different fields so has a lot of experience in a lot of different areas and also works as a personal trainer up here on the mountain. Outside of work Nicole loves to travel and has recently returned from a 6 month caravanning trip around Australia with her family. |
Gigi
|
Gigi grew up on the mountain before spending some time living in Brisbane, followed by almost 15 years overseas. She returned to the mountain at the end of 2022 with her Dutch husband and two young children. She started working here in Jan 2023 with no experience in the industry but has jumped in and learnt a lot about the optical world. She went off to have her third child at the end of 2024 and returned back to us early in 2026. Outside of work she loves spending time with her family and friends and she's always up for any fun adventure! |
Nadene
|
Nadene joined us in 2024. She was in sunglass retail before optics. She is a qualified optical dispenser and brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to the job. She enjoys living on the mountain having moved here from the Gold Coast with a brief stint in the Granite Belt. Outside of work she enjoys walking her dog, spending time with her family and going travelling. |
